Chancellor Community Centre
Chancellor Community Centre is located at 350 Ansley Grove Road in Woodbridge, Ontario. Facility rental opportunities include the gymnasium, bocce courts, activity rooms and swimming pool. Several programs are offered for all abilities and ages ranging from creative to educational, active living to instructional. An outdoor skating pad is operational in winter months as weather conditions permit. The swimming area provides for recreational swim, lap swimming and lessons in group, semi-private and private formats. Sports fields for soccer are located outside behind the building. The Ansley Grove Library is located in the adjoining building.
Father Ermanno Bulfon Community Centre
Father Ermanno Bulfon Community Centre is located at 8141 Martin Grove Road in Woodbridge, Ontario. Annual membership fees permit participation in the drop-in recreational activities such as ball hockey, badminton, volleyball and bocce. The swimming pool area provides aquafitness classes, recreational free swims and lessons ranging from private to semi-private to group size. Many programs are offered for active living, educational, instructional and creative pursuits. Facilities available for rent include indoor bocce courts, multipurpose room, activity rooms and the swimming pool. An outdoor recreational skating rink is open according to weather conditions between December and March. Soccer fields are also located on site for use by Woodbridge Soccer Club and other recreation leagues in Vaughan.
Vellore Village Community Centre
Some might consider Vellore Village Community Centre to be the crown jewel of community centres in Woodbridge. It is located at 1 Villa Royale Avenue, adjoining St. Jean de Brebeuf Secondary School. The swimming area is a state of the art aquatic facility and features a therapeutic hot tub, 25 metre lap swimming pool, diving boards, recreational pool and a two-storey high water slide. As with all community centres in Woodbridge, the Vaughan Lifesaving Club provides instruction in swimming, swim instruction and lifeguarding/lifesaving. The gymnasium area permits volleyball, badminton and basketball while the fitness centre offers aquafitness classes, whirlpool, personal training, cardio equipment and strength training equipment. Many recreational programs are available, as are facilities for rent which range from the cafetorium, multipurpose rooms, gymnasium and swimming pool. An outdoor skating area offers Zamboni-curated ice for winter activities and doubles as the skateboard park in the summer months. The Vellore Village Library is also located at this multi-purpose complex. Outside, there are baseball diamonds, basketball courts, soccer pitches and a children’s playground.
Woodbridge Pool & Memorial Arena
Located at 5020 Highway Seven in Woodbridge, Ontario, is Woodbridge’s oldest active community centre. In addition to the hockey arena, there is a multipurpose room and swimming pool area. Many recreation programs are offered here. The ice rink area offers renal opportunities for shinny hockey or other activities, and also offers skating programs and public recreational free skate times. There are three baseball diamonds located outside for Vaughan’s various T-ball, baseball and softball leagues.
Al Palladini Community Centre
Al Palladini Community Centre is located at 9201 Islington Avenue in Woodbridge, Ontario. The fitness centre offers personal training, fitness classes, strength equipment and cardio machines. There are squash courts, a cycling studio, sauna, whirlpool, swimming pool and indoor track. A number of recreation programs are offered for all abilities and ages ranging from educational, active living, creative to instructional. Two ice rinks are available for hockey, ringette, skating lessons and public skating. Both rinks can be rented for private use. The gymnasium area is equipped for ball hockey, volleyball, basketball or other activities. The swimming area provides space for recreational free swim, lane swimming, swimming lessons in group, semi-private or private formats, as well as instructional programs for lifeguarding and swim instruction. Aquafitness programs and classes are also offered. The various facilities can be rented for sporting events, conferences, business meetings, parties or other use. The building recently underwent a major renovation.
